這是一套很有趣的儀器，用作學習遺傳學的規律和讓我們測試出與遺傳學相近的法則。黃色的玉子代表優越遺傳子，透明的玉子代表劣質的遺傳子、這兩種玉子放在一個8 x 12列
96個穴的透明特製基因統計器(右圖)，把黃色和透明的玉子隨意地混在一起，每兩枚玉子便掉進同一個穴中；得出的組合結果是 黃黃 黃透明 透明透明 玉子；前兩者皆是代表優越的遺傳結合、後者皆是代表劣質的遺傳結合；其比例是3 : 1
這種結果是很有效地解釋遺傳學規律性及教導學生們基因組合的計算法則。
